Hello World!
Every programmer’s journey usually begins with this simple output. So, it feels only right to kick off this kuma blog with the same spirit of curiosity, optimism, and a bearly huge appetite for adventure. In the same vein, did you know that there are various movies titled “Hello World”, namely in French (Bonjour le monde) and Japanese (Harô Wârudo)?
Why Le Rubber Debugging?
If you’ve read the homepage, you’ll know this blog is a blend of cultures, quirks, and curiosity. “Le” is my little linguistic wink to both French and Chinese, because problem-solving should be both thoughtful and fun. And “Rubber Debugging”? That’s a salute to the classic rubber duck debugging method, where explaining your problem (especially to a rubber duck and my trusty Squirtle) can spark those “aha!” moments. It’s a method that feels especially apt for a Zillennial: blending analog rituals with digital tools, and never afraid to talk things out (even if it’s just with a plastic toy that’s seen more existential crises than bathwater). And if you’re wondering, yes, this playful approach is inspired by my roots in the Little Red Dot.
What Can You Expect Here?
- Tech Tales: Stories from my adventures in computer science, such as my OMSCS journey at Georgia Tech.
- Money Matters: Musings on personal finance, “prugal” hacks, and surviving (hopefully thriving) in one of the world’s priciest cities, where a cup of kopi often costs more than my childhood allowance (thank goodness for SG60 deals!)
- Life Debugging: Lessons learned from navigating National Service, university life, banking, and remote study, plus the occasional language-learning milestones.
- Bear-sized Curiosity: Explorations of anything that sparks wonder, whether it’s a new tool, a quirky habit, or a fresh perspective on an old problem.
Why Start This Blog?
Honestly? Because Zillennials like me grew up learning to adapt, remix, and debug life itself. Writing helps me make sense of complexity, and sharing helps me connect with fellow travelers on this hybrid journey.
After wrapping up my 2024 year-end review, I also realized there’s so much more to unpack, reflect on, and share. So, consider this blog the sequel: a space to continue the conversation, capture new lessons, and hopefully spark a few laughs along the way. If my stories, struggles, or solutions help you solve a problem, stretch a budget, or just smile at the absurdity of it all, this blog will have done its job. So, whether you’re here for the code, the cash tips, or just a bear-sized dose of curiosity:
Welcome to Le Rubber Debugging.
Let’s decode complexity, one adventure at a time.
Stay tuned,
